Notes/Domino Fix List
SPR # DMON535H22Fixed in 5.0.9 release

Product Area: Server Technical Area: HTTP Server Platform: AS/400

SPR# DMON535H22 - Fixed a problem where the HTTP reason code was not logged when using WebSphere DSAPI filter.
Technote Number: 1098660

Problem:
Q. What release of Domino and WebSphere is needed to use Domino's HTTP server
with WebSphere?

A. The earliest release of Domino supported is 5.0.5. The earliest release of
WebSphere supported is 3.5.1. See the document titled "iSeries: How to
Configure a Domino Server to Use Domino's HTTP Server with WebSphere 3.5.1 or
Higher" (#189226 ) for more information.

Q. What version of Java is supported with Domino?

A. All versions on Domino R5 use JDK 1.1.x only. It will use the latest
version installed on the system, usually 1.1.7 or 1.1.8. To determine which
versions are installed on your system, use the command DSPSFWRSC and review the
5769JV1 (V4R4M0, V4R5M0) or 5722JV1 (V5R1M0) entries.

Q. Setting the ose.native.log.level and ose.plugin.log.level to TRACE in
bootstrap.properties does not work, why?

A. This is a known limitation with WebSphere V3.5.x. This has been addressed
in WebSphere V4.0.

Q. When reviewing the HTTP access log for Domino, I do not see a response code
and size when a WebSphere servlet is called, why?

A. This is a known limitation. However, starting in Domino R5.0.9, the
response code will be logged. This issue was reported to Lotus Software
Quality Engineering and has been addressed in Domino 5.0.9.

HTTP Server - AS/400

SPR# DMON535H22 - Fixed a problem where the HTTP reason code was not logged
when using WebSphere DSAPI filter.

Q. What do I need to include in my classpath and where do I set it?

A. When accessing Domino data from WebSphere, you must include
QIBM/ProdData/Lotus/Notes/notes.jar in your classpath. You can set this at the
application server level.

Q. Is the NOTES.INI parameter JavaUserClasses used with WebSphere?

A. No, you should set the classpath in WebSphere as appropriate.

Q. Can I use WebSphere with ICM?

A. Yes. You can have multiple Domino servers running HTTP using one WebSphere
instance on the same iSeries box. You will need to make sure you specify all
of the appropriate aliases in the default host in WebSphere.

Q. What is the proper way to start and end both servers?

A. The order in which you start or end the servers does not matter. If you
start Domino before WebSphere and a user tries to access a WebSphere servlet,
you will get the error: "Error in external filter". However, if you are using
Domino's LDAP server for your LTPA authentication in WebSphere, you must start
the Domino server before you start WebSphere.

Q. What is the proper value for the DSAPI filter?

A. The proper value is '/qsys.lib/qejb.lib/domino.srvpgm', however at R5.0.8
'/qsys.lib/qejb.lib/libdomino.srvpgm' should also work. In either case, we are
referencing the LIBDOMINO server program located in library QEJB.

Q. How do I configure SSO (single sign on) with WebSphere and Domino?

A. Follow the instructions located at the following URL address:

http://www-1.ibm.com/servers/eserver/iseries/software/websphere/wsappserver/docs
/dominoSSO35.html

Q. What is the recommended way to access to Domino data?

A. It is recommended that you use the remote interface (DIIOP) to access Domino
data.
